Brief update on the blog and content to come
Hello comrades, a brief update on the status of the blog right now.
Currently I am recovering from what can best be described as a painful sinus sickness that left me basically immobile and loosely tethered to consciousness for a week. I’m over the worst of it, but I’m still sick enough to be coughing up fluid and sleeping restlessly; my mom has also come down with the same stuff, but worse, so I am in a somewhat unenviable position currently. This has derailed my efforts to do the shorter blog posts I wanted to do profiling candidates, and I probably won’t be able to get anything out before election day as of now.
As a consequence, this rearranges my schedule a bit. First and most immediately, I’ll most likely be doing a post-election day recap as the big culmination of this year’s elections. I probably would have also done this in a circumstance where I also had a chance to work on other things, but the lack of anything else puts this at top priority.
Secondly, I’m hoping to profile every one of Chicago DSA’s municipal candidates this year, beginning after election day. I have lead time on this which was not true of the candidates I wanted to profile for this cycle, so this should be much easier to do in advance. Ideally, the first of these will go out in mid-to-late November, and follow on a roughly weekly basis.
Thirdly, the long-form articles do remain in the works, and I’m hoping to begin work on several of these today, now that I can actually sit down and write for long periods of time. I have legitimately had some of these in the works for weeks or months now, and circumstance has simply prevented me from getting them to a more advanced stage of progress. No promises, but I should be able to get the first of these out by the end of the year or the first week of next year if nothing else disrupts me. The long-forms cover a broad range of subjects.
See you again shortly.
